About The Company

Canyon Movement Company, Inc., is a not-for-profit modern dance ensemble based out of Flagstaff, AZ. First established in 1993, the company is dedicated to sharing a passion and excitement for the art of dance with a growing audience. CMC has performed throughout the southwestern United States and abroad, including appearances in Arizona, Colorado, Utah, & Nevada, and in countries such as Ireland, Italy, & Cuba. The company has an eclectic variety of dances in the current repertory, which range from classical, comical, abstract, and theatrical. In addition to performing, Canyon Movement Company creates, presents, and celebrates the art of dance through education, community outreach, and collaborative projects with other artists including other choreographers, musicians, sculptors, visual artists, and writers/poets. As part of CMC’s education & community outreach, the company provides lecture demonstrations & community dance classes, as well as, no-cost, low-cost, or donation-based performances in both public, private, & charter schools in-state and out-of-state.
